Ethernet over MPLS (EoMPLS)

Purchase Options:

Video Length: 31 minutes
Resources: Configuration, Diagram and Presentation Files

In this technology video, we will show you how to setup Any Transport over MPLS (AToM) using Ethernet. This is also called Ethernet over MPLS (EoMPLS). Using AToM, we can build a Layer-2 connection over an MPLS network. This means we can extend over a single VLAN or perhaps multiple VLANs, if the transport at the CE is using Ethernet.

The objectives in these videos will be the following:

  • We will first configure MPLS among the LSRs which is our provider and two PE routers. This includes configuring OSPF routing among the LSRs.
  • We will setup a Virtual Circuit between the PE routers down to each of the CE connections.  This will build a Layer-2 connection between the two CE routers.
  • We will setup EIGRP between those CE routers to exchange routes, so the two LANs can communicate with each other.

You will also get the full configuration files for all routers configured in the topology.
