Embedded Packet Capture

Purchase Options:

Video Length: 17 minutes (2 video files) + Diagram and Presentation Files

In this technology video, we will show you how to setup Embedded Packet Capture on a Cisco IOS router.  Embedded Packet Capture allows network engineers to perform a packet capture directly from a Cisco router which can then be exported to a PC/Mac and viewed through a network protocol analyzer such as Wireshark.

The objective in this video is to perform a packet capture on our edge router’s LAN facing interface.  We will specify what hosts we want to capture packets from.  We will do a test from a system up to a web server while our capture is running on the router.  From there we will export the capture file and view it in Wireshark.
